2013 Was A Winning Year!
And it's not over yet! Trace picked up two more group placements; a Group 2 at the Greater Humble Area Kennel Club under Dr Steve Keating, and a Group 4 at the Beaumont Kennel Club under Carol Tobin Murray! Trace remains #1 Boykin Spaniel in All Breed Stats, and #2 in Breed stats through Oct 31. He has received an invite to Westminster Kennel Club, and we are headed to Orlando in December for the Eukanuba National.
A huge thank you to all my clients and friends who have trusted me with their beloved dogs and have supported me this year! I wouldn't be where I am without you. I can't wait to see what December has in store, and am eager for what 2014 has waiting for us!
First Group Placement
This past weekend was the 3rd year anniversary of presenting Texas Trace Boykin Spaniels in the AKC show ring. It's taken a lot of hard work, teamwork, dedication, perseverance, and of course a ton of fun to get these special Little Brown Dogs the appreciation they deserve.
Sunday at the Galveston County Kennel Club on March 17, 2013, GCH Hollow Creek's Texas Trace took Best of Breed over a major entry, and then continued on to a Group 3! Trace was in good company, standing among several other top ranked dogs. Our deepest thanks goes out to judge Noreen Cartwright for acknowledging this young dogs excellent breed type. This show was also Trace's first show one year ago, he has certainly come a long way in the last year! My sincere gratitude to his wonderful owners and breeder for trusting me with this special boy.
Trace is currently ranked #1 Boykin Spaniel, Breed & All Breed systems.
Great Time at Eukanuba!
We had an excellent time in Orlando for the AKC Eukanuba National dog show! We showed Friday at the pre-Euk shows, CH Hollow Creek's Texas Trace took Best of Breed, and GCH Kountrytyme Mtn of Fire N Ice took Select Bitch, both over beautiful entries of their respective breeds.
Saturday was the official Eukanuba show, and Trace once again took Best of Breed! He was in great company and accomplished this at just 17 months old. This win also finished his Grand Championship.
Saturday win photo below. Our thanks to judge Micheal Faulkner, and congrats to breeder/co-owner Patricia Watts, and owner Ginger Hurley.
Orlando or Bust!
Eukanuba Invitational 2011
It was a beautiful sight to behold to see all 14 of the Boykins in the ring. I had the honor of showing my sweet girl Kelley all the way to Best of Opposite Sex to the #1 Boykin! Kelley showed like a rock star, I am so proud of her! It was a close call, the judge was really considering her for Breed. With all that competition, I am more than happy with the BOS award! I love Kelley like my own, and am glad to have had the opportunity to show her. Huge thanks and congrats to her owner, Greg Copeland!
Kelley also finished the year as the #1 Boykin Spaniel bitch. I am still on Cloud 9!
Westminster Kennel Club
What an honor it was to be invited and exhibit at the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club! Jaeger and I flew in and had an absolute blast. Jaeger showed like the Grand Champion that he is, and was quite the social guy in the benching area, being a great ambassador for the Boykin breed. Kelley, handled by Scott Sommer, took Best of Opposite Sex over 5 other bitch specials to the #1 Boykin, quite a win! Way to go girl!
Looking Back on 2010
Boykin Spaniel GCH Jaeger finished 2010 ranked #3 in Breed Standings, Kelley finished as #6, and Midnight #13.
I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store! See you in the ring!
Jaeger's Best of Breed Win in Dallas
GCH Jaeger went Best of Breed over the #1 Boykin Spaniel and a top Boykin bitch, both also professionally handled. Jaeger showed great for me, as always, and judge Elliot Weiss did not hesitate to award him.
First Boykin Grand Champion
GCH Hollow Creeks Jagger Meister is the first Boykin Spaniel to achieve an AKC Grand Championship. He finished the requirements, with ALL majors, on July 11, 2010 in Dallas, TX.
Jaeger is proudly owned by Greg Copeland, and exclusively handled by Rose Leale.
